How the numbers work
Ahead or over
Your lease allows its total miles evenly across its length: a 36-month, 12,000-mile-a-year lease allows 36,000 miles, earned a little every day. The app takes your latest odometer reading, subtracts the odometer at delivery, and compares that with what the lease had allowed by the date of that reading. The difference is how far ahead (miles banked) or over you are. Within 50 miles either way counts as on track.
Why "as of your last reading"?
The app only knows your mileage on the days you log it. Comparing an old reading with today's allowance would make you look further ahead than you are, so every figure is measured at the date of your latest reading. Log a new reading to bring it up to date.
Miles left this month
Lease months start on the same day of the month as your lease. Each gets an equal share of the total. When a month has no reading inside it, the app spreads the miles between the readings on either side evenly, and the history screen marks that month as estimated.
Projected overage
Your pace is the miles you've driven divided by the days up to your latest reading. The app carries that pace to the lease end and, if it passes your allowance, multiplies the extra miles by your excess charge per mile. It waits for two weeks of readings before projecting, because a few days of driving says little about three years.
Common questions
My lease isn't a whole number of years.
Set the length in months in Settings (or when adding a car). Any length from 6 to 96 months works, and the yearly allowance can be any number.
I'm not getting reminders.
Check that reminders are on in the app's Settings. If iOS has notifications turned off for the app, Settings says so and has a button to open iOS Settings, where you can allow them.
Can I fix a reading I got wrong?
Yes. Tap any reading on the dashboard or in History to edit or delete it. The app won't accept a reading lower than an earlier one or higher than a later one.
Will my data move to a new iPhone?
Your readings live on your device only. They move to a new iPhone when you restore it from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one. The app has no account and no sync of its own.
How do I start over?
Settings, then Reset to Onboarding. This erases every car and reading on this device.
